Grand Lake tree lighting ceremony is Nov. 28
Grand Lake will kick off its official winter season on Friday, Nov. 28, with the Wonder of Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5 p.m. in front of Town Square Park on Grand Ave.
This year will carry on with Rocky Mountain National Park’s Centennial Christmas theme as Park rangers will be serving hot cocoa with all the toppings and plenty of cookies for children and kids at heart.
Christmas carols will be sung around the tree and visitors will be treated to special guests Bruce the Grand Lake Moose and Santa Claus, complete with photo opportunities with them.
Participants are encouraged to bring an ornament to decorate the tree. All ornaments will be reused or donated to those in need. Whispering Pines will be selling ornaments that families can customize prior to and during the event.
The event is free. For information visit http://grandlakechamber.com/ treelighting2014/ or call 970-627-3402.
