As summer winds down, it’s our favorite month in Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park — SEPTEMBER! While boating, hiking, fishing, SUPing, ATVing, horse back riding and golfing are still going on, you will now hear bugling elk, see fall colors and the migration of birds, celebrate Labor Day Weekend and Constitution Week, and feel and smell the fresh autumn air.
Be sure to take in Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre’s Fall Show, Almost Heaven, opening on September 1st. Almost Heaven weaves together the songs of John Denver to create a uniquely theatrical narrative that reflects upon the country during the years in which he wrote them and the events happening in Denver’s life at that time. It features twenty-nine of John Denver’s songs – including “Rocky Mountain High,” “Sunshine on My Shoulders,” “Annie’s Song,” “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” and more. Fall in Grand Lake is the perfect season to listen to John Denver’s music and is a perfect way to commemorate Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre’s 50th Anniversary season.
