Deck the halls, it’s Christmastime in the Rockies! Grand Lake is a picturesque winter wonderland this time of year, creating the perfect backdrop for a variety of winter activities. From warm evenings at the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater to outdoor adventures on snowshoes, snowmobiles and cross-country skis, December is packed with family-friendly adventure and entertainment.
The Grand Lake Nordic Center is open and ready to welcome you! Take advantage of the Full Moon Ski on Saturday, December 22nd from 5-9pm and ski by the light of the moon in a captivating mountain setting. The Nordic Center will be open daily with 35 kilometers of trails to explore. Bring the whole family and enjoy the FREE tubing hill! Stop at the Sly Fox Restaurant and thaw out with soup, snacks and warm drinks while you’re enjoying the trails.
The Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater is showcasing a few holiday events you shouldn’t miss this December. There will be two opportunities to see RMRT alumni present their annual heartwarming performance of “Home for the Holidays” at 7:30pm on Saturday, December 15th and at 2pm on Sunday, December 16th. On Monday, December 31st from 9-10:30pm, celebrate New Year’s Eve with party favors and a champagne toast at the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater.
More family fun can be found at the Kauffman House Museum this holiday season! This historic and authentically restored Victorian hotel is inviting you to their Open House on Tuesday, December 26th and Wednesday, December 27th from 1-4pm. The Kauffman House will open its doors again on December 31st from 10pm to midnight to ring in the New Year. Take in the “exciting displays and very unusual turn-of-the-century artifacts” while awaiting the fireworks display right in front of the Museum! Admission is $5, and includes mulled cider, treats and tours.

Open daily, the Grand Lake Center boasts Complete Cardio & Weight Room facilities for $8 a day, Open Gym for $2 a day, and Total Body Fitness and Senior Fit Classes Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays!
